Testing and Consultations
ASSESSMENTS:
Good assessments or testing provides an analysis of a learner's strengths and weaknesses of specific achievement areas including reading, math and writing, as well as, a wide range of cognitive skills such as visual and auditory processing, discrimination, working memory, etc. We also administer annual testing for homeschool students.
At The Thinking Center, the assessment process usually lasts between one to two hours depending on the student. Click HERE to see the assessments that are offered and then call us to schedule your appointment. 941.924.6373
FAMILY CONSULTATIONS:
There are two types of consultations:
- An initial consultation for one hour is scheduled for a review of the screening results, highs and lows of student performance, concerns, goal-planning and approrpriate intervention/s.
- An educational consultation is for the family who is trying to create a specific plan that fits your situation no matter which school district or state you live. Click here for more information.
SCHOOL CONSULTATIONS:
These are specific to an individual school's request. Most focus on supporting a family at a CARE meeting. Amy F. Weinberger has co-created a special needs camp, two schools for students who were identified with major achievement gaps, as well as, a reading/cognitive clinic for people with learning disabilities. Because team meetings come with their own agendas, Amy is assertive to make sure that the school team hears the concerns
of the parents and integrates those needs into their plan.
