MASTERING SOCIAL COGNITION

Our social training is based on the research projects of Dr. Mel Levine and Dr. Stephen Norwicki.   The training takes a student on a three-part journey of social awareness and ultimately personal change.   First, students engage in the discovery about what kind of mind they have so they can begin to notice the minds of others. Second, students begin their training to become social spys that will lead them to create their personal social project.   Finally, students engage in an intense practice of recognizing and responding appropriately to nonverbal language.

TEST MASTERY

The Thinking Center does offer individual training to manage, understand, and succeed on the FCAT, SAT/ACT and GED.   The assessments are by grade level or subject area depending on the test.   Once the strengths and weaknesses are clear, an interactive plan is implemented.   Error correction and immediate feedback are essential to improvement.   Homework and participation is critical to the increase in scores.
